Why you got to make us look bad

OK, so my roommate and I were discussing TV shows and we happen to bring up shows that we seriously believed the whole message was to display black people at their worst and at the top of the list is a clay animation called the PJ’s. Now I just recently saw this show but it’s centered in the projects and is about these black people (plus an Asian and Mexican singular) that live in this run down building. This show is a piece of racism at its max and I mean I sit there and ask myself does everything that come out these characters mouth have to make me feel stupid. I mean the main role model is a Don King looking guy that is a janitor, also the only person with a job on the show he steals from friends and family, he is constantly lazy, he dodges bills, got a hoe for a niece, neglects his wife and spends most the episode pissing me off. The kids are stupid failing out of school, they got a whore, a crack head that lives outside, African voodoo click clack woman and other bunch of other stereotypes that are to display black people in projects. See I could bear this show if it had some balance but the only positive character is a stay at home wife that mainly wants her husband to sex her up and usually ends up going along with whatever shit is happening.

Every good black comedy cartoon or real people have a least one positive role model and it can still throw in some black humor that shit could be funny. Fresh Prince a successful Uncle and Will Smith character and even Jazz are both from hoods of Philly yet they manage to throw in a flavor while not setting blacks to look stupid to their audience. Boondocks this show cracks me up and they play off a lot of black stereotypes yet the Grandfather is successful and they have the main thing a balance that allows them to do humor without making us look like a bunch a failures.

I grew up around mainly black people and until my high school years I didn’t really meet and mix with any other cultures and a lot of my first impressions of other races were at first based on TV or things I heard. So its works the same way kids watching the PJ’s get a view of blacks off TV especially when you don’t live in a racially rich area. You forget that there is no particular way that someone acts you act based on where you grow and how you live. But instead it creates people that are racially stupid and never learn that people act in different lights no matter their color. Dumb ass shows like PJ’s gives off every black in ghetto projects are certified dumb ass from birth. They just need to add a few good models or at least give a good message; TV shows do the teaching for parents who are to lazy to teach their kids.
P.S (directed to Eddie Murphy)

So Eddie Murphy creator of PJ’s, Eddie Murphy a famous black comedian Eddie Murphy who has done some great black comedy. Don’t make us look like idiots causes that show you put together is some ole bullshit. Us African American as a culture are so rich man, as people we are Proud no matter where we are from Eddie.

The Barbershop Church

Barber Shop

Mr. Lee - 12 years - Philadelphia

Mr. Said - 2 years – Las Vegas

Mr. Craig - 2 years - Chandler

Mr. Jay – recent - Tucson

I was sitting watching this documentary on the invention of barbershops (boring Sunday morning) and how they have transformed through the years. But the thing that stuck with me was that they kept saying how a barbershop becomes a major part of someone’s life its similar to finding a church that works for you it becomes spot and the barber is like the “priest of hair and knowledge.” But your first barber sets the standard for every other barber and if you have a good one you’ll remember his name forever So made me think about the Barbers in my life.

So in Philadelphia I had this guy Mr. Lee and I remember him cause the first time I came into the shop I was complaining and shit cause they were going to cut my hair and I wanted hair like my cousin braided and shit. So I remember some guy (not Mr.Lee) cutting my curled out Afro and I was crying after the edge up. So I got lifted out the chair tears going down my cheeks and this other Barber (Mr.Lee) came up to me asked if he could grab me from my mom’s arms and sat me in his barber chair. So he grabbed some candy out popped it in my hand and told me “once you get your first hair cut you start becoming a man and man never cries about a hair cut so for now on when you need to get your hair cut I will cut your hair.” From that day the whole time I lived in Philadelphia he cut my hair and every time he would give me 75 cents to run and get some candy from 7-11.

But that’s not the reason I remember him cause honestly the only reason I remember that story was cause when I went back to Philly, Mr. Lee retold me the story of my first hair cut. The reason I remember him was partly cause of the bumble gumballs and mainly for the stories. See the barber shop was like a after school hangout my friends and I would walk in there and listen to older guys talk about women, music, movies, sports, news, etc and Mr. Lee was the main man I remember a point where I looked up to him like someone I wanted to grow up and be just like. He gave me advice on a girl I liked, he would tell me why to watch out for types of people and I learned all about cuss words and the biggest thing I learned about was sex from that barbershop. I’m not saying that all his advice was positive and I’m not saying a barbershop is a place for young kids to hang out but for the time being I listen to him more then my teachers at the time.

So I got to say I must agree when they say that a barbershop is like a church. A church will teach you morals and Barbershop will teach you other morals. A Bishop is a person to be respected as a positive figurehead and a Barber to me at least can be a model. So what did we learn, when you have kids stay away from black barbershops or they will turn your kids in sex crazy confident, ready to fight black men L.O.L . Not really but I bet if you think hard you can find a special barber in your past like mine

Hercules Hercules Hercules

I have given up on my working out dreams man. I am burning down all my ideas of a perfect body and recreating it. Now I have been working out for a while but never got the right balance as soon as I start gaining weight. I go out and play a sport like basketball and most recent a combination of soccer/basketball and I feel heavy or out of breath faster then ever before and bang I’m back to Cardio routine and within a week of getting that speed I’ve cut weight and the circle of disappointments continue.
So I flipped a coin and decided to give up on my Andrea 3000 body and decide to stick to a 6 meals a day and high protein and high Carb diet. I’m going to cut cardio to a minimum and spend my time gaining weight.

I blame my Grandma I can’t handle “the nigga you losing weight must not be eating “ comments man. Its hard when you enjoy basketball more then reps and messing up your hand or you prefer a run to clear your mind then worrying about if I did 500 carbs over my usual intake

Happiest doesn’t start from within it starts from your Grandma and it ends at her telling you damn Aymen you are eating well you looking like Hercules if he was black and looking like he could take a bullet to his chest and watch it bounce off. Watch out Grandma this next 6 months are for you

Kick Ass coming April

Have you seen the movie Hancock with Will Smith a superhero that caused millions of dollars of damaged while trying to use his powers for good the idea was seriously funny and I loved movie and not just cause Will Smith was in it. But now I think I found a new comic book comedy killer movie that will top Hancock.

Now I know now a days you cannot tell how good a movie is depending on the previews but with a title like Kick Ass how the hell could this movie be anything but Kick Ass. A movie about normal people dressing up being action pack super heroes with a comedy flare behind it I like the idea. Plus seems like it has the same feel as that movie "Zombieland" which I got to admit took my favorite type of horror movies (zombies) and made it into a comedy perfection just like "Shawn of the Dead". So my favorite type of action movie (comic based) movies made into an action comedy yes sir sign me up.

What are a few minutes to your day?

Im Late Im Late for a Very Important Date

A few minutes can be those few minutes of sleep that don’t exactly make you more rested just wanting sleep more

A few minutes can be those few minutes where you forget to grab your wallet cause you were rushing to hold on to time that screwed you in the end

A few minutes can be those few minutes on that drive that lets you beat traffic but instead your stuck behind slow cars and the 3 sec green light tease

A few minutes can be the difference between on time to class to being known as that kid that comes in late every day

A few minutes can be a difference between that meter time costing you a minute compare to a ticket costing you 70

A few minutes can be the difference between getting all your reading done to missing those 6 questions on the test cause you missed that part

A few minutes can take away that breakfast time that you haven’t seen in a year

A few minutes can take away energy, health and most important your time

So my message to the world give me more minutes in my day cause I need more to waste
